What is Ashi Point in Acupuncture & Trigger Point in musculo-skeletal pain

What is Ashi Point in Acupuncture & Trigger Point in musculo-skeletal pain, for example? Similarities & differences. Abstract.

·         The Ashi Points
They are points without denomination
They are not systematized Acupuncture Points _ APs or APs of meridians, or out of meridians. They do not necessarily correspond to the location of traditional APs.
They are often randomly located in an already sensitive area, of varying duration, specific tender spot, painful when pressed, they depend on the causal disease in accordance with the syndromes or diseases with clinical effect nonetheless.
The Ashi points are treated and needled
as classic APs with Acupuncture and Mesopuncture according to a classically and globally approach, for example with the BMN performing both needle insertion  and injection of a liquid drug into the Ashi Point with a single insertion of a single needle.

·         The TriggerPoints_ TPs
The most common cause, 75%, of chronic musculoskeletal pain
According to TRAVELL and SIMONS a Trigger Point_ TP is define as a tender nodule, a painful or sensitive muscular knot, hyper-irritable, limited and located in a firm, tight and palpable band of skeletal muscular fibers, the taut band.
It is an irritable spot either spontaneously (active TP) or on digital compression (latent TP) able of generating either a local or referred pain to other musculature.
'Other signs' are also described: A motor dysfunction, neuro vegetative signs such as sweating, swelling, and "goose bumps."
These TPs may become activated by a variety of factors such as, poor posture, overuse, or muscle imbalance.
TPs exhibit a local twitch response (muscle fasciculation) or a global jump sign (flexion response) in response to digital pressure or Dry & Wet Needling.
These signs and the 'Other signs' are not described for ASHI points.
In response to the digital pressure or Dry –Wet Needling  the TP has a local twitch response or muscular contractions by groups of some muscular fibers, with the appearance of  a "bag of worms" or complete muscle flexing or jump sign.
Only clinical criteria define currently the TPs; two new processes, sono-elastography and elastography by magnetic resonance perhaps will help obtain an objective confirmation.
Using the BMN needle, hypodermic and acupuncture needle complies fully with the terms of the TPs treatment, described by Drs. TRAVELL and SIMMONS. It allows performing the Dry and Wet Needling with the same needle insertion located at the same point and injection of the liquid drug contained in the reservoir BMN without recourse to a charged syringe.
 · The BMN needle length is 13 mm. All TPs can be treated by the BMN needle, performing the Dry Needle and Wet Needle according to two modes, depending on the depth of the TPs.
It be described
A direct mode when DN & WN are made with the BMN needle inserted into a TP when it is superficial. ·

An indirect mode when the TP is quite deep and the BMN needle, 13mm long, not being able to reach it: the needle is inserted between the skin and the deep TP to perform the DN & WN.

Mesotherapy Acupuncture Mesopuncture (MAM) needleless: Abstract

Mesotherapy Acupuncture Mesopuncture (MAM) needleless: Abstract
Mesotherapy Acupuncture Mesopuncture Needleless MAM, a non-invasive set of three treatments proposed for various aesthetics or health disturbances.
Acupressure is a noninvasive version of Acupuncture treatment without needle insertion.
Mesopuncture and Mesotherapy are also performed, without needles, by another external stimulus, a liquid drug.
*- Acupuncture: To obtain the Acupuncture effect, in the treatment of a particular condition, the selected Acupuncture Point_ AP of systematized localization is stimulated by various external stimuli, without needles: Moxas, laser, waves, magnets, massage and more…   ..
*- Mesopuncture or Fluid stimulus of the same AP was initiated, thirty years ago by the Chinese medicine: To obtain the Mesopuncture effect, the APs must be stimulated by a liquid drug. There are two categories of liquid drugs that can be used for the fluid stimulus, liquid drug with or without pharmacological activity. There is a needleless version, performed, by an external way or Virtual Mesopuncture.

*-Mesotherapy.  The Mesotherapy Point_ MP is created by few drops of a fluid drug, deposited, in any part of the skin on which will be applied the electrical apparatus for virtual Mesotherapy. The MPs are small reservoirs of liquid drug created in the dermis or hypodermis.

It should be noted that:
The AP is of systematized and known location for millennia.
The MP is of random location.

In the skin surface chosen for creation of the MPs, some APs are preexisting to MPs: MPs and APs are often adjacent or not far from each other, the same virtual Mesotherapy apparatus with the same liquid drug (or the same device with a needle), can reach them, both.

The most logical way, exploiting the proximity of APs and MPs and the ease to involve them in the initial and local treatment was to group them together, in a set, Mesotherapy Acupuncture Mesopuncture or MAM easily performed
·         with the BMN, acupuncture and hypodermic needle (FDA) also used in direct or/and Wet & Dry needling

Liquid Drugs in Mesopuncture, Liquid Drugs in Mesotherapy

Liquid Drugs, with / without pharmacological effect in Mesopuncture. Only with pharmacological effect in Mesotherapy

It is sometimes desirable to join
o   to the Acupuncture Point _AP stimulus by the metal acupuncture needle, (internal stimulus) or by massage, pulsed light waves (external stimulus) producing the Acupuncture Effect we qualify of metal needle or needle, for the convenience of this publication,
o    A stimulus by liquid drug (Mesopuncture), injected or passively deposited without needle into the AP  by iontophoresis and also producing an Acupuncture Effect by liquid stimulus of PA ..
o   It also makes sense to repeat this injection into the dermis, star shaped around the AP, in order to create Mesotherapy Points_ MPs-, possibly with the same device, the same or not liquid drug injected or deposited, without re-insertion of the needle into the AP with the same iontophoresis apparatus or the same BMN device....

**-* Liquid drugs
There are two categories of liquid drugs that can be used in the fluid stimulus of the AP.

o   The liquid drug without therapeutic or pharmacological action but with a mechanical action by irritation (by its volume, its physicochemical structure…), of the AP which generates an ‘Acupuncture effect’. It is used to boost or add by a fluid stimulus creating an Acupuncture Effect by liquid drug, the classic metal needle stimulation or Classical Acupuncture which produces an Acupuncture Effect by metallic stimulus of the AP.
In this category of drugs, inactive in Mesotherapy, you will find: distilled water or serum, the duration of its effect is short.
For hyaluronic acid, the duration is several months.
**-*Its use is inactive in Mesotherapy.

o   The liquid drug with Therapeutic Pharmacological Effect: This effect is added to the Acupuncture Effect of the liquid stimulation to complete the particularity of Mesopuncture.
In this latter case, the medical device which was used to inject the liquid drug into the AP can create into the dermis surrounding this AP, various Mesotherapy points, also.
Its use by the Therapist depends on his qualification to use, or not, injectable with/without a therapeutic effect

** The liquid drug with pharmacological therapeutic action, depending on its physicochemical structure, which is also an AP stimulus:
It produces a fluid stimulus of the AP or Acupuncture Effect superimposed on its own Pharmacological Effect and added to the classic Acupuncture Effect, already obtained both
·         by internal way, acupuncture needle or hypodermic needle, or
·         by external way: massage, pulsed light, etc.

**-* The medical device
The liquid drug is injected into the AP by needle or deposited into the AP without needle by iontophoresis.
The medical device used to allow the liquid drug with pharmacological effect to reach the AP is used to create into the dermis around the AP, Mesotherapy points as performed by BMN without removing the needle inserted into the PA.
This set of acupuncture effect and pharmacological effect characterizes Mesopuncture.

** The liquid drug into the AP
The duration of AP activation, i.e., the duration of the Acupuncture Effect, is identical to the duration of the Pharmacological Effect recognized by the Pharmacopoeia, both dependent on the physicochemical structure of the liquid drug.
In general, the drugs have an Acupuncture Effect with duration equal to or greater than the Acupuncture Effect of the conventional metal acupuncture needle.
. Other drugs have an Acupuncture Effect of long duration or still very long with a "Pharmacological Effect" of the same duration.
It is interesting to have very long acting drugs such as hyaluronic acid, which allows to obtain an Acupuncture Effect of very long duration, the "Pharmacological Effect" of same duration not having any harmful impact on   the patient’s health, hyaluronic acid is a said drug comfort. With this medication, for example, of very long duration of pharmacological action, stimulation of the AP is also of very long lasting, allowing space acupuncture session.

**-* Liquid drug metabolism injected locally
Locally, injected the drug, which retains its therapeutic properties, has a specific development, common to all injections in Western medicine:

It acts, in first, directly on the altered area and, a second time, after passing in the blood, it reaches the liver where it is conjugated and returns to the altered area.

Acupuncture Mesopuncture with/without needle

Acupuncture Mesopuncture with needle or with the BMN and Acupuncture Mesopuncture without needles, virtual or with iontophoresis
Note: It is spoken of VIRTUAL Mesopuncture that is to say without using needles, inserted into the skin. One could also say NOT INVASIVE.
**-* The Acupuncture Point_ AP begins in the epidermis and ends in the subcutaneous connective tissue.
In fact, according to
SOULIE DE MORANT, the sensitivity of the skin, at the surface of the AP even if it is deep, is part of the AP.
Professor SENELAR of the Medicine Faculty of Montpellier-France, describes the AP, in histology, as an open well in the epidermis to be terminated in the subcutaneous tissue.
* The stimulus
This explains the possibility of stimulating the AP and obtaining the Acupuncture Effect externally, without using, as with the acupuncture needle, the internal pathway.
In the same way, using a liquid drug as an AP stimulus, this liquid drug can be
Either injected with a needle it is the internal way of the liquid stimulus
Or some drops of this liquid drug can be deposited at the skin surface, on which will be applied the iontophoresis apparatus.
The Therapist selects, depending on the health or aesthetic disorder, the APs for stimulation with/without needles; also he selects the appropriate drug for the case to be treated.
* There are two kinds of APs selected: AP already labeled and AP revealed by pain at pressure or ASCHI point.

** - * Current application
Courses on alterations of health or aesthetics are easily found on the net, on which Mesopuncture is applied without difficulty in its two versions without / with associated or not associated with acupuncture and Mesotherapy.
*-* An application running is found easily in the network, courses on alterations of health or of aesthetic on which is applied without difficulty the Mesopuncture in its two versions without/with needles associated or not, with Acupuncture and Mesotherapy.
Aesthetics:  Facial, hands, neck and hairy leather.
Pain, rheumatism, sports.
Body Aesthetics: Overweight, Cellulitis,
Obesity
Nervous disorders of daily life
Addiction: Alcohol Tobacco Sweets…
We already know that
• The location of AP is fixed and known since millennia, on the skin surface,
Its activation can be performed by a liquid drug injected or deposited without needles by iontophoresis.

**-* Mesotherapy Points _ MPs are created in all part of the dermis, in the same way with a few drops of drug.  It is to avoid any confusion that APs are located, at first, in the courses, with diagrams and legends in order to determine thus, the entire skin surface, between the APs, where the Mesotherapy Points will be created.

**-* The treatment

*- Usually, Mesopuncture Acupuncture...
The AP is stimulated with a compact acupuncture needle inserted into the AP, and with a deposit of liquid drug injected into the AP by an injection needle.
. You can take advantage of this injection, to create with the same insertion of this same needle or with a shorter needle, specific of Mesotherapy, and a same drug throughout the whole dermis around the AP, by numerous deposits of few drops of drug creating thus, Mesotherapy Points _ MPs.
It is done so, Mesotherapy Acupuncture Mesopuncture or MAM with three needle insertions: A compact Acupuncture needle and a needle with syringe for Mesopuncture and a shorter needle for Mesotherapy.

**- A less invasive version is the use of BMN, a hollow acupuncture needle, surmounted by a deformable reservoir filled by the therapist, with two fingers, with the drug chosen as appropriate to treat.
The BMN needle is inserted into the AP, needle of same diameter as the acupuncture needle, including APs of the back: BMN does not prevent prone or supine decubitus. After a few moments, necessary to perform acupuncture, with the same needle insertion in the skin and the same drug, Mesopuncture can be, by injection of some drops of the drug from the reservoir, in the AP and Mesotherapy by deposits of few drops of drug, in the dermis around the AP.
·                    With the same BMN, it has been able to perform, in a single insertion, the MAM: Mesotherapy Acupuncture Mesopuncture.

**- In the non-invasive version without needle
The AP is stimulated with external stimuli, through the skin: massage, light, heat, waves...

**- To already well-known stimulants must be added,  stimulation by a liquid drug or Mesopuncture, deposited in the AP, without needles by iontophoresis:
The iontophoresis (or virtual Mesotherapy) apparatus allows, thanks to an electric current, a few drops, the drug liquid chosen, extended over the skin, crossing through the skin and reaching the deeper layers of the skin and connective tissue where is located the AP.
• When moving the virtual Mesotherapy device, around the AP (the AP is 5mm in diameter), the drug is allowed to reach the dermis around the AP and, thus, create the MPs.
The MAM or Mesotherapy Acupuncture Mesopuncture, without needles, has thus been performed.
This type of treatment is used by all types of Professionals invested in aesthetics, beauty, sports, etc.

How I Treat Back Pain N°2, by Acupuncture Mesopuncture

How I Treat Back Pain N°2, by Acupuncture Mesopuncture and Trigger Points with BMN:Acupuncture Hypodermic Needle
Some liquid drugs of delayed effect have a pharmacological effect of 3-4 weeks and an Acupuncture effect of the same duration. These liquid drugs have the same therapeutic indications in Acupuncture/Mesopuncture and Medicine.
  • What are the advantages related to using Mesopuncture in the back pain
In addition to the small volume of liquid drug used and proximity between the treated area and altered back area, we can detail the particularity of becoming of the liquid drug injected locally into the skin
As in Mesotherapy, the liquid drug performs, at the level of the painful area, two therapeutic actions,
First therapeutic action: From the injection point, the liquid drug directly reaches the altered area.
Second therapeutic action, after passage in the bloodstream and liver the liquid drug returns to the painful area which then receives twice the liquid drug.

Particular case of Hyaluronic Acid _HA
Some liquid drugs of delayed effect, have a pharmacological effect of 3-4 weeks and an Acupuncture effect of same duration. These liquid drugs have the same therapeutic indications in Acupuncture/Mesopuncture and Medicine, which restricts the indications, in Mesopuncture, of longer duration stimulation, when the Therapist wishes to space the needles insertion, for other health disorders.
One exception the hyaluronic acid
Injected into the AP, its ‘Acupuncture Effect’ is of very long duration without, general or localized or harmful 'Pharmacological Effect’, its action is mainly physical, mechanical in Mesopuncture as in aesthetic medicine.
We retain its stimulating action of very long duration of the AP, several months, allowing to space the Acupuncture sessions.
Mention may be made in the same vein of burial catgut or titanium implant in Auriculoterapia.

PROCEEDINGS OF THE SITTING
In general, Acupuncture and Mesopuncture are realized by different needles requiring insertions of two kinds of needles that is to say a double insertion pain for each AP: Insertion of compact acupuncture needle, and then, insertion of hypodermic needle.
·         For our part, in order to optimize the pain of multiple insertions in several APs, we use the BMN which allows performing with the same needle inserted in the same AP, both Acupuncture and Mesopuncture and all around the APs, creating Mesotherapy Points. The latter are created in the skin area of the affected region of the body, by liquid drug micro-deposits into the dermis or superficial hypodermis avoiding the APs.
The Therapist first localizes the selected APs to treat back pain of his patient.
He fills the BMN reservoir with the liquid drug he had selected to treat this back pain.
He inserts the BMN in the APs including APs in the back or abdomen, allowing the dorsal or ventral decubitus.
After about twenty minutes, he injects in each AP (Mesopuncture) few drops of a liquid drug from the reservoir, then, he creates, also in the dermis around the AP,   according to a star-shape, micro-deposits of few drops of this same liquid drug, the Mesotherapy Points _ MPs.

*  #TRIGGER-POINTS_ TPs
'Other signs' are also described: Motor dysfunction, neuro vegetative signs such as sweating, swelling, and "goose bumps."

Once localized (in the muscles, tendons etc.), the TPs are treated either with a needle-free injection (Dry Needling) or by injecting a liquid drug in the TP.
TPs exhibit a local twitch response (muscle fasciculation) or a global jump sign (flexion response) in response to digital pressure or Dry & Wet Needling.
In general Dry & Wet Needling are associated and are performed by the same BMN device.
The needle length of the BMN is 13mm.
All TPs can be treated by the BMN needle, performing both Dry & Wet needling according to two versions depending on the TPs depth:
·         Direct Dry & Wet Needling when the needle is inserted the superficial TP.

·         Indirect Dry & Wet Needling when the needle is inserted between the skin and the deep TP.

Mesotherapy and Acupuncture/Mesopuncture. The #BMN, Only one needle…

Mesotherapy and Acupuncture/Mesopuncture. The #BMN, Only one needle, only one insertion into the skin

#Mesotherapy points are created by deposits in any part of the dermis or superficial hypodermis of small doses of an active liquid drug.
But, in the thickness of the skin, pre-exist the Acupuncture Points described for millennia, with the following properties:
·         The diagram of meridians longitudinally located at the body surface on which are described the Acupuncture Points_ APs, is conventional.
The meridians are, in fact, Pr. LANGEVIN, connective tissue cleavage planes and APs are greater amounts of connective tissue with aligned collagen fibers easily accessible from the location, at the skin surface, of the AP: The AP becoming the easiest way to reach the connective tissue.
To be active, the APs must be stimulated either by a compact needle; it is the classical acupuncture or by a hollow acupuncture needle, the BMN, performing as the compact acupuncture needle, a metallic stimulus of the AP but also a liquid stimulus or Mesopuncture by injection of few drops of a liquid drug into this same AP.
In Mesopuncture, the liquid drug has two properties depending on its physicochemical structure: On the one hand it keeps the pharmacological properties and their duration, recognized by the pharmacopoeia; secondly it has a stimulating effect on the AP whose duration is similar to the duration of its pharmacological effect.
Generally, the APs have a systematized location, known for thousands of years and a path beginning in the connective tissue and ending at the surface of the skin.
Besides that, Mesotherapy Points _MPs are created by injecting few drops of a liquid drug anywhere into the dermis except where APs are located: It is necessary for the Therapist to know the location of APs for not achieving Mesopuncture if he chooses to create MPs, especially as often, APs and MPs are so very close that they are adjacent ... The BMN we use is a hypodermic needle surmounted by a small polymer reservoir: It is a handle which allows the needle use during the acupuncture session, in compliance with the FDA acupuncture needle definition.
The BMN device is used to insert the needle in the AP for performing Acupuncture and then, by pressing two fingers on the reservoir above the needle, it is possible to inject few drops from the liquid drug contained in its reservoir on the one hand in the AP to achieve Mesopuncture and secondly, into the dermis, around the AP to create MPs””.

The BMN in treatment, by Dry Needling_ DN and Wet Needling_ WN for the pathology of Trigger Points_ TPs:
Two versions of treatment, WN and DN, are described: either the direct needling where the needle is inserted into the TP or indirect needling where the needle is inserted at distance from the TP.

The needle of the BMN is 13mm and will allow to perform, depending on the depth of the TP, both DN and WN either in its direct or indirect version.

Stimulus by internal way: Metal needle, in Acupuncture. Liquid drug, in Mesopuncture.

Stimulus by internal way: Metal needle, in Acupuncture. Liquid drug, in Mesopuncture.

It is necessary to insert an acupuncture needle, or inject a liquid drug into an Acupuncture point _ AP, to stimulate the AP and obtain the 'Acupuncture Effect'.

      ·     Metal acupuncture Needle
The acupuncture needle has no therapeutic function of its own. It is the needle insertion and its management (Pr LANGEVIN) that often produce through the connective tissue, the 'Acupuncture Effect' which is the therapeutic effect of the metallic needle in acupuncture.
·    The 'Acupuncture Effect ' resulting from the metal needle stimulus of the AP, lasts a few days.
     ·     The liquid drug in Mesopuncture
Practiced in China since time, proposed and applied in the West, since the mid of the last century, it also produces an 'Acupuncture Effect'.
The drug creates, according to the AP, in which it has been injected by the therapist, an Acupuncture Effect while keeping its own pharmacological effect.
 ·    The physicochemical structure of the liquid drug
According to the Pharmacopoeia, duration of the pharmacological action of the drug and duration of the maintenance of its effective blood level, for the treatment as well as the speed of their elimination from the human body, are two specific characteristics of the drug, depending on the physicochemical structure of the liquid drug. Physicochemical structure of the drug is also at origin of the AP stimulus and its duration that is to say of its Acupuncture Effect, the medication keeping, when it is injected / deposited in the AP, its 'Pharmacological Effect' and its duration.
The AP stimulus by a liquid drug and its Acupuncture Effect is either of same duration or generally of much longer duration than the 'Acupuncture Effect' created by the acupuncture needle.
The ‘Pharmacological Effect’ of the liquid drug is of same duration as the 'Acupuncture Effect', of this same drug, both depend on the physicochemical structure of the drug.

·    The 'pharmacological effect' and the 'acupuncture effect' of the drug used, are two effects that complement the 'Acupuncture Effect' previously obtained by stimulation of the AP with the single needle.

There is a synergy of action between the 'Acupuncture Effect', obtained by the needle inserted or the drug injected into this same AP, and the 'Pharmacological Effect' of the drug used to stimulate the AP.
They are then two ' Acupuncture Effects ' added to the 'Pharmacological Effect' of the drug.
* Ultimately, the three effects: ' Acupuncture Effect ' by needle, ' Acupuncture Effect ' by liquid drug and 'Pharmacologic effect' of the drug, are synergistic and are a complete treatment of the health or aesthetic disorder with the only reservation that the duration of the Effects by the liquid drug stimulus is of longer duration than the Acupuncture Effect resulting from the metal needle stimulus.

·     Duration of the therapeutic effects of the liquid drug in Mesopuncture
We have in our pharmacopoeia, drugs with Pharmacological Effect of variable duration. *-* Some day: They are the drugs of common use in daily medicine either intravenously or intramuscularly.
*-* Few weeks: They are active in rheumatic pain, sports. They are used in the APs selected for their Acupuncture Effect active also on pain of rheumatism, sport...
*-* Some months ·
In general, the drug selected and used in Mesopuncture is retained by its own Pharmacological Effect, synergistic of the Acupuncture Effect created by liquid stimulation of the AP in which this liquid drug has been injected.
It is not possible, in our medical ethics, to use a long or very long lasting drug, for example with Pharmacological Effect, to lengthen the Acupuncture Effect duration of an AP with antalgic Acupuncture Effect, according to Chinese medicine to this AP: Each drug has more or less harmful side effects that the therapist cannot risk to create in his patient of whatsoever intensity, in unrecognized indications by the College of physicians.
We do not have, for the moment, drugs with long or very long duration of action for the different pathologies we could treat, having a synergistic Pharmacological Effect compared to its Acupuncture Effect created when this drug is injected into the selected AP.
.      The problem is different using the hyaluronic acid. It is a so-called comfort liquid drug, used in esthetics.
It is selected not for its pharmacological effect reduced to a mechanical, physical, chemical, filling effect of several months but for its long lasting Acupuncture effect without notable pharmacological action even harmful when it is injected into the AP.
This Acupuncture Effect is of much longer term than the metal needle, in parallel with the length of its elimination from the human body as specified in the pharmacopoeia.
Moreover The Hyaluronic acid is synergistic of any Acupuncture Effect created when this drug is injected into any AP.
Its main interest is obvious: Duration of its Acupuncture Effect by physical stimulus of the AP with a possible aesthetic advantage without any negative side effect.

It is a drug that can be used in the vast majority of patients to space consultations.

Acute & Chronic COMMON PAIN and Acupuncture Mesopuncture

Acute & Chronic COMMON PAIN and Acupuncture Mesopuncture
In managing the treatment of chronic or acute 'common' pain, it is positive to use, occasionally or continuously, the therapeutic couple Acupuncture-Western drug.
Acupuncture is active by Acupuncture Points _ APs, known for millennia, selected for a given condition, after applying the fundamentals of Acupuncture and divided, according to their mode of action, into three groups: APs of general, regional or local action.
Only APs of local action whose use do not require extensive knowledge in Chinese medicine are involved, unlike the first two groups.
Stimulation of these PAs of local action carried out by a metal needle, remaining in situ for twenty minutes, brings an energy dimension to the proposed treatment.
Injection of few drops of a liquid drug, already may be used by the patient, both in the AP (Mesopuncture) and in the dermis around the AP (Mesotherapy) produces a double pharmacological dimension to the proposed treatment.
Apart from the recognized pharmacological and therapeutic effect, the drug injected into the AP, stimulates the AP, through its chemical structure or the injected volume, and also, adding an energy dimension to the proposed treatment.

Pain due to the insertion of firstly a compact needle and secondly a hollow injection needle is optimized by using of a hollow acupuncture needle performing, Mesotherapy Mesopuncture Acupuncture, once inserted in the AP.

The Kneevide

The Knee #Osteoarthritis and #Mesopuncture
Mesopuncture is a supplementary means in the classical acupuncture treatment for osteoarthritis in general and especially for the knee, but not only, osteoarthritis.
As the laser, it is an association, Chinese medicine and modern pharmacopoeia.
Recall that there are three categories of Acupuncture Points _ APs: APs of general, regional and local action.
The Mesopuncture is preferentially applied to APs of local action.
It is the injection (or the passive deposition), in the AP of few drops of a liquid drug.
The liquid drug has two actions, in the AP, both dependents on its physicochemical structure:
• Due to its intrinsic therapeutic properties it treats the knee, not only, osteoarthritis: The
Mesopuncture is a supplementary means from the classical acupuncture treatment for osteoarthritis in general and especially in the knee osteoarthritis.
It complements the classical acupuncture session.
As with the laser, it is an association, Chinese medicine and modern pharmacopoeia.
Let us remember that there are three categories of Acupuncture Points _ APs:  APs of general, regional and local action.
The Mesopuncture is preferentially applied to APs of local action.
Mesopuncture is the injection (or passive deposition), in the AP of few drops of a liquid drug. The daily active dose is divided in several micro-deposits created into the various APs.
The liquid drug into the AP.
Due to its physicochemical structure or volume, the liquid drug is a fluid stimulus of the AP, adding an energy dimension to the pharmacological treatment. The liquid drug
keeps its intrinsic therapeutic properties, active on the knee osteoarthritis:  Pharmacological effect.
Stimulates the AP creating a therapeutic effect: Acupuncture effect.
The duration of both actions of this injection, in pharmacology and acupuncture, also are dependent on the rate of resorption of the liquid drug, of its physicochemical structure. It often exceeds the stimulus duration of the classic metal needle.
Generally, the pharmacological properties (pharmacological effect) of the liquid drug selected and injected into the AP are synergistic of the therapeutic properties resulting from the stimulation of APs (Acupuncture effect): Pharmacological and Acupuncture effects are synergistic and of same duration.
Around the AP, with the same needle and liquid drug, it is possible to create Mesotherapy points also of the same therapeutic action duration.

The liquid drug injected into the APs located in the skin, like in Mesotherapy, has an interesting therapeutic future:
It reaches directly the weathered zone first, and then after passage into the blood and conjugation in the liver, it again reaches the altered zone.: The liquid drug acts twice in the altered area.

Nota.
For the treatment of osteoarthritis, by Mesopuncture Acupuncture, we do not have, in our pharmacopoeia, active drugs for more than a few weeks.
It is possible to use liquid drugs of long or even very long stimulus duration of the AP (Acupuncture effect) without synergistic pharmacological effect but with pharmacological effect, not harmful, rather dedicated to comfort or aesthetics, as hyaluronic acid, for example.
This type of long stimulus of the AP is interesting because it is possible to space the Acupuncture sessions: Fear of needles, loss of time, financial concerns etc. or to use them for patients intolerant to anti-inflammatory drugs or wishing to avoid them....
